While showing Howie in 2017 Chris saw a Whippet being shown at the Sault Ste Marie Dog Show and fell in love with the grace and movement. After research we approached Shetara Whippets in Verner Ontario about acquiring our foundation bitch.

I truly believe that Whippets are one of the dog worlds best kept secrets – they are truly great all-around dogs that are enthusiastic about play, exercise, and snuggles. Originally bred to race, hunt rabbit, and keep their masters warm in bed on cold nights the Whippet is a wonderful creature to live with.

Our Whippets all have OFA Cardiac NORMAL and OFA BAER NORMAL tests.

BPISS BBPIS CanCh. Shetara’s Fame at Comar

“Fame” was the first Whippet mistress of Comar – through her patience and goofiness we have learned to show and live with Whippets. Fame was bred by Shetara Whippets and is line bred from Sporting Field stock – her dam Sporting Field All That Glitters and her sire Gch. Sporting Field Rocks at Shetara are both part of the Shetara breeding program. (Whippet Archive)

Fame was awarded Best Puppy in Specialty Show under esteemed judge Joan Goldstein at the Great Lakes Whippet Club 2018 and Best Puppy in Limited Breed Show under judge Dr. John Reeve-Newson at Trillium Dog Fanciers 2018.

BPIG Shetara’s Beyond Beautiful

“BB” joined the Comar pack in spring 2019 – she was bred by Shetara Whippets in Verner, Ontario and is out of Bo-Bett Flew Into Willowgate sired by GCh. Sporting Field Rocks at Shetara. (Whippet Archive)

BB made great first impressions at the Nickel District Kennel Club winning Winners Bitch and Best Of Winners twice (Judges Lee Steeves and J.C. Boulinguez), and Best Puppy in Group under judge Lee Steeves.

We are very excited for this promising young girls future.

Silvercharm Satisfied with Tripletime at Comar

“Jelly” was bred by Alan Brown (Silvercharm), Hunter Blakenship , and Randy Tincher (Tripletime) and came to Comar in September 2018. Jelly is out of AmCh. Owlwatch Over Easy at Tripletime sired by AmCh. Tripletime Lucky You. (Whippet Archive)

Jelly will be entering the show world in early 2019 and we look forward to the bright future this young lady has. She showed at the Nickel District Kennel Club with her friend Karen at the end of the lead and had a wonderful time taking multiple RWB placements. She is a blast at the end of the leash and an absolute pleasure to live with. We can’t wait to see what is in store for her!
