Welcome to Comar Reg’d. We are a small kennel located in Haliburton Ontario run by Chris O’Mara and a small team of helpers. We are proud to have produced to have both American and Canadian champions with the Comar prefix, and continue to present our dogs to the fancy across North America.
Chris is a proud member of the National Whippet Club of Canada as well as the Canadian Kennel Club. Chris actively participates in conformation and lure coursing with his Whippets while others in his breeding program have gone on to earn therapy dog titles, scent dog titles, and barn hunt titles!
We are proud that all of our dogs are health tested to OFA CHIC standards and each of our puppies is tested to OFA standards before it leaves Comar for its’ forever home.
Chris happened on the Whippet in the Hound ring at a local dog show while he was there showing his Bedlington, Howie. He fell in love with their graceful movement, goofy temperaments, and big round eyes!
Chris has many accomplished show dogs as well as dogs that are extremely accomplished in other venues – it is as important to him that the dogs be able to attain a championship as it is that they are good family pets and clever kind creatures.
Chris is dedicated to preserving well tempered, healthy, and easy to train Whippets in Ontario… with health and physical and emotional soundness as a foundation absolutely anything is possible!
